Bonnie and Clyde is a film about a criminal couple getting into trouble in the depression era. The movie was released on August 13, 1967. Bonnie discovers Clyde outside her family home trying to steal her mother’s car. She quickly dresses and comes downstairs to introduce herself to Clyde. He invites her to have a Coca cola drink downtown. She was 19 years old at the time and living in Texas. Clyde however, was 21 and was an ex con. In order to get out of prison early, and out of work detail, Clyde chopped off two of his toes with an axe. When they were walking downtown, bonnie couldn’t possibly believe that he really was a robber and had gone to prison. Within moments he pulled gun out, showed it to bonnie, and said “Wait right Here.” Clyde went across the street in this little tiny Texas town and robbed the local grocer. He ran out, showed her the cash, and stole a car.
Clyde Barrow was homeless, but pretty close to penniless and only knew one way of life, and that way was to take from others. It could be a car, Monet from a bank, small grocery, or the need for food. Bonnie Parker was a small town waitress who was liking for love and adventure. When these two decided to go into partnership together, bonnie thought it was all about love and romance. Sex was not shown in the 1960s in the movies, it was considered to be very risqué. By the way, those who need a definition, it means being sexually suggestive. Violence in the film industry was viewed for the first time with gun violence and depicted bloody murders.
The director of the movie was Arthur Penn. With music by Charles Strouse. The production company was Warner Brothers Pictures with Warren Beatty being a producer and lead actor. The cost to produce the movie was $2.5 million and box office revenue was $70 million. Looks like it paid for itself. Based on being a box office success meant the film producers took risks in areas that were never tried in earlier film making. This set the stage for other filmmakers to start taking these risks involving gun violence and portraying sex.
The film Industry prior to the 1967 Bonnie and Clyde movie showed films about music, adventure, mystery, horror, and light romance. After the film was released, movies became more visual in sexual content and visual in violence. Depicting murder, blood wounds with graphic content. In the years to follow, movies such as Butch, Cassidy, and the Sundance kid 1969, and The Wild Bunch 1969. “It was so popular that many of its daring innovations became conventions in the years that followed” (Mast, Kawin 293). It is reasonable that film creativity would be utilized for many years. “The surprise was that these new murderers were also charming, exciting, compassionate, and funny-and that the violence was much more graphic” (Mast, Kawin 293). This particular statement characterized many of the actors and their roles in this particular movie.
There are two events that were very interesting that happened the year the film was released. First is the Six Day War which involved Israel and Syria by conflicting them into a fight. “By 1967, Egypt was bogged down in a war in Yemen that had become its own Vietnam. It had not fought well. But Nasser could not replace Amer with a better soldier” (Bowen, BBC). It is known as a global event. It was unusual for that event to occur in a short amount of time halfway across the globe. The other event that I have found interesting is when boom, The Apollo 1 caught fire, this was when the craft did a run through of the travel and the three men involved passed away as a result to this sad event. “In the view of many of these astronauts, the Apollo Command Module just wasn’t ready yet. Engineering changes were still in progress as NASA prepared for the countdown test” (Howell). A very interesting economical event that was very troubling.
What happened was that Bonnie and Clyde have been not good indivituals throughout the film. The film was made to show action, and even what happens to the couple throughout the film. It was received to have violence and some of the most specific tactics to getaway from trouble. the critic think that the film was tense by watching it. There is some site of conflict by some who have seen the film. One thing in the film that was not expected was the actors getting shot and even dying in the end of the film. The evidence historically is what the actors could expect while watching the film and how tit was in review. The historical questions wandered are robbing banks, using different sounds and effects, having conversations and being a team, and showing in color. Money in the film industry can help improve filming and changes if needed. Some artistic style can change are more sounds and effects. The feeling of a particular style is about the films having different art forms. the issues being presented are how bad those people are. The film can affect society in many different ways. The technology can change how it was produced, the actors, and how the acts turn out. These documents can solve the issue by differing their styles.
To motivate the public into a cinema, film producers needed to incorporate all of the above levels of filmmaking. During this time, films made money by people going and paying to see the film. A true fact, upon my research, it was discovered that Bonnie and Clydes car in its shot up, bloody, broken windowed state was returned to its original owner. It is currently on display at Whisky Pete’s Resort and Casino with other interesting facts about the crime spree of Bonnie and Clyde. The Casino is located in Primm, Nevada.
Also one of my favorite clips to conclude.

The changes made were me mentioning the word “I” a lot and removed most of it on my paper. The context was needing more specific information.
It’s cool to learn that the money a movie generated determines how future films are made. Since this movie made a lot of money, there will definitely be more movies made that are somewhat similar. Especially how this film started showing more graphic violence and a charismatic killer, like the Clyde character. I guess this really shows how the film industry is changing.
