Addams Family values

The movie that I pick is: The Addams Family Values, release in November 19 1993, At that time I was in my last year of University in my home country Colombia, it was a very difficult time there, a lot of car bombs in commercial places, you learn some how the way of living like that and is not like you are in fear all the time is something that you almost forget in order to live almost a normal life, my parents lived in a little town and I was away from them because my studies, so they always advice to me: from the university to your house and from the house to the university, no more, and all you social life only in the university campus (it was really dangerous other way) I did that and no harm happened to me but at the end of that violent year the Medellin police kill Pablo Escobar Gaviria the most controversial and cruel drug lord in history at the same time in here was the year that Bill Clinton became president and Czechoslovakia is no going any longer and became Czech Republic and Slovakia , back in my world ,at that time i was more into theater that movies, so I see this movie some years after an at first i did not get the black humor and all the amazing references in the dialogues, from the color palette to the dynamics of realization of the scenes it has this authenticity that even if you do not like or hate it you can not deny its essence. it has also this innocent tone and almost naive narrative that i like so much, the sensuality in the romantic scenes is very funny and the political message is so clear and respond to a continuous narrative, despite being mainstream movie it is full of little details that make you feel like you are in the presence of pure art, the class that goes down in history. in the past I saw it so many times that some dialogues I know by memory . some years ago my daughter love this movie and we saw it like every day and we enjoy so much wen Wenesday in her roll of Pocahontas make clear what is her philosophy in life, also because of this movie my daughter Sofia never wanted to play to be a Disney princess again, something that I celebrate with joy, She started watching movies with a more critical eye. Sofia is now fourteen years old and we saw the movie on Friday for this essay and it was quite a surprising how so many years after we laughed at the same acting turning points, we repeated and laughed in the same dialogues and it was as if time not passed for us, it is a timeless movie, I love it. The movie props that are fake but nevertheless so real so well done, the movie art is consistent and never fades. Regarding the light work of the film ( thats why i share this you tube video from a year ago) in whish they talk about the light that always accompanies Morticia in the eyes and that only gets lost a little in the summer camp scene. The photography work is extremely careful and consistent in each scene at all times and helps create that atmosphere that’s very particular of the film and goes well with the costumes of the characters. the music is so important for the athmosphere of the film it goes smoth with the plot and is an important part of the humor management, for example when they punish the characters and send them to the Disney little house, that music in that moment with the zoom out of the camera make a delightful joke.
