The March Sisters

The 1994 adaptation of Little Women Based on the novel by Louisa May Alcott, holds fond memories for me. I saw the movie when I was middle school aged and remember it as an inspiring tale Of young women growing, and finding their callings despite the adversaries against them. I remember strongly connecting with the character Jo because of the way she rebelled against societal expectations and followed her passions and heart.

After re-watching the movie Little Women I found the story just as moving as I did in my youth. It portrayed the core messages very well, even the original poster did a good job of showing the heartwarming feel of the movie.

The story of the sisters and how they followed their individual paths hit home for me. And after all these years I still felt a connection to the unparalleled passion in the character Jo March. From the positive reviews the movie received I would say the critics and I agree.

The film was based on a book that shared unconventional views of the journeys of self reliant women. Although it is a movie based on a popular best selling novel, in its own ways it is a mixture of a conventional and unconventional film.

The film gives me a sense of warm. The family including father, mother and four sisters are all very warm-hearted and helpful. No matter how bad their situation is, they have no idea but to help others, I really appreciate what they did to not only familiars, but also for strangers. And that is why when they gave their Christmas breakfast to others, their neighbor gave them Christmas meal back as a reward. No matter what trouble they meet, all they do is to come together and resolve together. To courage each other is the best way to recover.

I watched this movie when I was very young and I can’t remember too much about it. The reviews have left me wanting to watch the movie again. I could use a good hearted movie. I feel like this movie would hit home because I myself, is one of three sisters. I think I would relate a lot to the movie because of this reason. Glad to know you still find comfort and hope in this movie years and years later!
