Personal Cinematic History: Janez Demsar

I myself have always loved movies and films. I find myself going to the movie theatre to see whatever blockbuster happens to be out more often then most people I know. On my spare time I will find movie streaming and just watch whatever seems interesting, whether I am re-watching it or it is new to me. One movie I have become particularly fond of (and have re-watched at least 10 times) is Quentin Tarantino’s Django: Unchained. I discovered this film while browsing through a movie selection on a 10 hour flight to Germany. Not surprisingly, I watched it again on the way back home. I found the movie to be everything I could enjoy in a single film. Stunning action, romance, drama, as well as some very well-written comedy, all fused together perfectly. Not to mention the film shows some historical background,  and represents what life what like in the early formation of the United States, showing the perspective of a freed slave seeking revenge on those who have previously enslaved and tortured himself and his significant other. The “R” rating really tops it off as it allows the energy and brutality of the story and historical setting to show.
