Personal Cinematic History – Erin Brockovich Film

The film I will be talking about today is Erin Brockovich. I find this movie to be one of my favorites for a variety of reasons, ranging from its directing to its actual purpose. The reason this movie had such an impact on me, was that it inspired me to follow the career path and educational goals I currently have set for myself. The movie follows Erin Brockovich, an intern who lacks a formal education in law, at a small law office near the west coast as she pursues Pacific Gas and Electric for their wrongful intentional tort against a small town.  Despite her lack of education and everybody telling her that the corporation was to big to bring a formal lawsuit against, in the end she prevails in a class action lawsuit and wins millions to be shared by the affected families.  I find my experiences and reasons for enjoying this film differ quite a lot from my current classmates and their reasoning for liking their own films. While many of my classmates selected their favorite films based on action, drama, or acting, my selection was based on the fact that this movie served as an inspiration for my career.  My opinion on this film has remained the same from the moment I first laid my eyes on it to my most recent viewing. Each time I watch the movie I perceive its message the same way, we each have a responsibility to protect the communities we live near and to better the planet as a whole.
